DUDE. I'm pretty sure it exists. Something to do with carbon monoxide and various other funky gases making our atmosphere thicker, ie. more heat potential in the air or something like that. If it doesn't exist though, man, those scientists got good jobs: get paid to be wrong. Although one curious thing is that even though its 'global warming', it's getting colder. *shrug*

Anyway! As to capital punishment, I was discussing with a KI class one possible scenario.

All the people on death row get an option to join an arena. As long as they keep winning, they'll stay alive, and money will be awarded to their family, provided they have one. If they lose, well, they were on death row anyway. And this would replace all kinds of low-quality shows like My Sassy Neighbour and Days of Our Lives. Man. Channel 5 would win.
